Hybricon upgrades workbenches with Arlink 8000 workstation system

 Problem
 Hybricon manufactures backplanes, card cage/backplane assemblies and complete subsystem interconnect packaging. The company needed to upgrade its workstations in seven departments including assembly, test, quality control and an engineering lab.

Solution

Hybricon met its goals by adopting the Arlink® 8000 Workstation System. With the help of the Lista sales team, various workstation designs and layouts were examined. "Working with my sales team made it easy to explore ideas. It was beneficial to visualize the workstations before ordering," explained Jim Williams, VP of Operations. 2D, 3D, and color renderings of the production area sped the approval process.

Forty-five workstations were specified for seven different departments using a standard 60" module width. 84" high columns featuring the Definite Positioning System® maximized use of vertical space, optimizing floor space and providing improved ergonomics.

"Assembly was simple and fast", commented Production Supervisor, David Favreau. "The Arlink workstations' flexibility encouraged us to brainstorm better ideas. We changed our layout significantly using the parts ordered." Planning through installation took 6 weeks. Thirty workstations were installed where only 12 could fit before, a 250% improvement!
